ABOUT THE ARTIST

New Mexico artist Vicki Van Vynckt has always been inspired by the beauty she found in nature. From the Great Lakes area where she was born, to the mountains and high desert of the Southwest, she has endeavored to relay in oil paints and canvas the gifts we all have around us. Stop for a moment and take in the magnificence of the sunrise or sunset, the sound of bubbling water in a creek, a flower up close, or the rose glow on the mountain peaks while the sun goes down in the west. There is a deep spirituality to everything we find, and it is as close to us as our heartbeat.

Vicki has been painting for over 25 years. She earned a degree in Fine Art from the University of Southern Indiana. She has taught painting lessons through Community Education, operated a picture framing business for ten years, and has participated in over sixty group and solo exhibitions since 1988. Her work can be seen at Indigo Gallery in Madrid or by visiting her art studio by appointment.
