Biography I started enlarging and bringing into my canvases certain shapes, colors, and light sources from often overlooked words, thoughts and ideas. This approach often presents uncomplicated paintings of surreal colors and light. These colors and light blend into forms that result in expressing a bond between my ideas and my paintings creating an excitement of movement. As I integrate light into the canvases they seem to come to life giving the feeling as to time and space which molds my thoughts, words and color into the finished canvases. For example, the painting “Moods” takes us through our feelings using different palette colors, starting with Yellow/Orange being the sensation of everything happy and sunny; however, Blue is easily slipped into as sadness/envy which brings waves of Blue/Purple, allowing Black to slip into Red anger. Then a reverse depression causes movement into Gray/Blue gradually subsiding slowly back to Orange moving on to bright relaxation in the form of Yellow. A junior college in Denver was the start of my art education, taking numerous watercolor, oil, acrylic and drawing classes. Upon moving to Chicago I enrolled in drawing, oil and acrylic classes at the Art Institute of Chicago. I have shown in a juried show in Denver and with the Placitas Artist Series for a number of years. My work is displayed in private residences in Wyoming, Connecticut and Chicago as well as Placitas.
