Ruth Ann Olson Custom-Designed, Hand-Carved Frames
Ruth Ann Olson, a resident of New Mexico since 1959, has spent much of her adult life collecting fine art for her personal enjoyment. After her retirement from the field of high echnology, she followed a life-long dream of becoming involved with art herself. She set out to learn the artistry and skills of chip carving with the goal of creating unique, custom-designed picture frames. The result of this effort is a wide range of designs and moulding designs that compliment the art and add distinctiveness to each framed piece. While Ruth Ann offers a series of designs for standard frame sizes, she specializes in commissioned work. This allows her and the owner to design a frame which blends all elements to best present the artwork.
