Hank Estrada oil painting inspirations are
found right in his own Placitas, New Mexico
backyard. “At any given time of the day,
I’m completely captivated by the simple
order of rolling hillsides dotted with
junipers, the majestic panoramas of the
Sandia Mountains, and how our natural
light instantly adds to the drama of a
scene.”
In June of 2007, Hank signed up to take
his first oil painting class. “I had dreams of
learning how to capture with paints the
awesome New Mexico beauty that
surrounds me everyday, and so far, I am
proud of what I have accomplished.”
Hank has discovered his enjoyment,
passion, and natural talent for painting
New Mexico's intense landscapes and
spectacular vistas. “I’m truly excited about exploring the limitless painting possibilities
throughout the entire Southwest, but more specifically here in New Mexico.” With
minimal formal painting instruction, Hank continues to develop his craft on his own by
exploring art galleries, capturing
inspirational photographs, and observing fellow artists at work.
Hank Estrada, was born February 20, 1956 in Los Angeles, California, but has been
calling New Mexico home now since 1989. He has lived in Santa Fe, Truth Or
Consequences, Silver City and now, Placitas, New Mexico. Hank Estrada is an artist to be
watched.
