Born on the wrong side of the tracks in Beverly Hills (where they actually do have a right and a wrong side), I was raised in the 90210 Zip code area back in the days before they had Zip codes. Eventually I managed to graduate from Beverly Hills High School after my mom made repeated bomb threats to the school board threatening to blow up the oil well in the back of the school if they did not graduate me. I attended and graduated from Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles, California with a major in advertising design. I worked in advertising as a TV and print art director for about 15 years mostly in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Then I became an honest man and left advertising and along with my long-suffering wife, artist Mary Carter, started our own graphic design firm in San Francisco. We had lots of fun and had the privilege to work for some very exceptional clients including Ernst & Young, Chateau St. Jean Winery and Vineyards, Charles Schwab, and Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream to name a few. I started using a computer in the 80s and began doing computer graphics in the mid 90s. I have written two books on computer design, Looking Good in Color, Ventana Press, and CorelDRAW Studio Techniques, Osborne/McGraw Hill, and several hundred magazine articles and web tutorials. Currently my wife paints and I design logos and web sites including this site, and my wife’s Mary-Carter.com site, and about 35 more. 98.4% of my work is done from scratch using Xara X, a stunning little British vector drawing software application. I build my images using the basic shapes. There is very little drawing involved. Click here to go to Graphics.com where I have a more complete gallery of vector images. Although I am now 64 and my hair is mostly white, my level of sophistication seems to be rooted in my high school sophomore year when I drew lots of floating eyeballs. I’ve added worms and exploding spheres to my repetroire, and my skill level has improved somewhat, but inside the body of this 60 year old adult there lives the mind of a small child. I hope you enjoy these images. If you would like to see some examples of my adult logo, graphic and website design, please visit www.gwpriester.com I also have a new gallery of my 3D Hidden Image Stereograms at www.custom-stereograms.com Thanks for stopping by.
