I was born and raised in the north of England, drawing and painting was my passion from an early age. In high school, my art teacher encouraged me to go on to art college, but I chose nursing school instead. So I have not had any formal art education.

In 1970 I emigrated to the U.S.A. and raised my family in Pennsylvania. I worked for many years as a nurse in the operating room of the local hospital.

Retirement brought me back to painting. I joined a group of artists in Pennsylvania called the “Ivyland Art Group” and that is where I became familiar with pastel, my favorite media.

My husband and I visited the southwest a couple of years ago and were in awe of the landscape and architecture. We just had to come live here. We now live in Placitas                                                                                              The landscape makes me want to paint. It’s inspiring and compelling. I look out of my window and see a painting.
