Adriana Scassellati

Born in Amsterdam, Adriana Scassellati came as a teenager to America with her family and they settled in the northern suburbs of Chicago. Adriana has always been interested in art and the use of colors displayed in various media. The opportunity to study and time to create finally came when she retired to Placitas with her husband. A friend introduced her to pastels and Scassellati joined Debra Christensen’s pastel class and is still a member. She is also a student of Sue Buck who is a professor Art at Allegheny College in Pennsylvania. and conducts classes here in Albuquerque. Adriana has studied with Doug Dawson and just recently completed a 3 day workshop with Frank Frederico. She is a member of the pastel Society of New Mexico.

Adriana has shown at the Placitas Artist Series in the past and also shown in the Placitas Studio Tour and will again in 2008. She has shown in the Debra Christensen class Art Show in Albuquerque the past 3 years.
